Salisbury

One of the advantages of moving house (and country!) so much is that you frequently make new places available for day trips. Last Saturday we visited Salisbury, where neither Isobelle nor I had been since we were children. We spent some time looking around the market (where we bought some delicious greengages), after which we went to the cathedral.We tried taking a picture of all three of us on the way, but with only a wonky fencepost to support the camera, the results were not spectacular. Salisbury might not be entirely flat, but it's not as slopy as this either!

Before we went inside the cathedral, Dominic enjoyed a nice long walk around the green that surrounds it. He's very independent now when it comes to walking, and more than happy to wander off on his own to make new friends and explore the area.

He still enjoys holding hands with his Mum and Dad sometimes, though!

Of the many attractions of Salisbury cathedral, Isobelle and I enjoyed admiring the masonry, stained glass, new(ish) font and Magna Carta. Dominic enjoyed the feel of the stone floor, walking up and down steps and ramps and playing with the gravel outside. It's good to see that our English cultural attractions can cater for a wide variety of tastes!

Even when asleep, Dominic seemed to keep a close eye on what was going on around him.

He woke up in plenty of time to enjoy dinner and the railway journey home, though.
