On a narrowboat

Another lot of photos from April. We spent a few days with my parents on a narrowboat on the Trent Mersey Canal. It was amazing! I had such a great time. We worked as a very smooth team by the end, jumping out and dealing with the locks in all weathers and taking turns to steer. Fraser already blogged some photos of the middle of this trip when we met Chris and Tony. Well here are lots more piccies of our watery fun:

Me concentrating so I don't crash

The galley slave

Field of grazing swans

The all important centre rope

Mormor and the boys
The name of our boat

Filling the water tank

Walk along the towpath

Leaving me behind

Morfar and Dominic off exploring again

Fraser and my Mum off to seek provisions

Cheeky tounge

The boys getting ready for bed

Fraser working the locks with Robin in the sling

One of our favourite locks - such a easy cute little one!

In comes the boat

Fraser pretends it is difficult...

Dad a bit wet from having to steer the boat in the rain

Dominic's favourite spot to watch the world go by

Dad looking very expert, keeping the boat well in to the side of the lock

A nice deep one

I finally persuaded Fraser to try steering

Dad does the Titantic thing

Mormor and Robin have cuddles

Mum steers (had to include a picture of everyone having a go at some point!)

Fraser and Dominic off for a walk

Dominic "steers" the boat

Me and Dad work the lock

The man at the boat rental place said that in his experience girls could not do this lock and it was best left to the guys. Well! After that I just had to prove him wrong (it was very tough though!)

Mum keeps the gate shut

Out we go!

Dad looking very nautical

A fun bench
